Rigesa receives the 2006 Referencia Award - Nov 30, 2006 - 12:10:00 PM

At the fourth Referencia Awards, granted by the magazine Referência, one of the most important publications in the country¿s timber sector, and by the Brazilian Association for Mechanically Processed Timber - ABIMCI, conducts an annual look back at the country¿s timber and forestry sector and recognizes those companies, entities and professionals which have contributed most to the development of the segment in Brazil. Rigesa figured amongst the 11 winning companies highlighted in 2006, at a ceremony held on November 20, in Curitiba, State of Paraná, during the III International Congress on Plantation Solid Wood Products, which comprised seminars from a number of personalities from the Brazilian timber and forestry sector and from countries such as the United States, Italy, Sweden and Finland.
Etsuro Murakami, Director of Rigesa¿s Forestry Division, maintains that winning the 2006 Referencia Award reflects the hard and dedicated work put in by all the company¿s employees. The constant search for excellence demonstrates that Rigesa is one of the main organizations in the country to boast a relationship with the forestry base sector. This award is recognition for the development of an activity of fundamental importance in the Brazilian scenario, in an environmentally friendly, economically viable and socially just fashion, which Rigesa has been successfully developing throughout the 50 years of the Forestry Division, he concludes.
